Planting activity at Al Khaleej Al Arabi Model Kindergarten

A special planting activity was organized by QAFCO for Al Khaleej Al Arabi Model Kindergarten for boys using flower, fruit and vegetable plants as part of efforts to spread awareness about home gardening in Qatar.

Trip to QTFA for employees & their families

A trip was organized for QAFCO employees and their families to QTFA Farm in Al Shahaniya. A brief tour was provided of the facility as well as the latest farming techniques adopted at the farm. Families also had an opportunity to harvest some of the vegetables such as cucumber, bell pepper, tomatoes etc.

Qatar National Day

In celebration of Qatar National Day in 2021, QAFCO announced reel making contest via Instagram, was released only for Qatar residents through its official Instagram page. Over 100 entries were received for the competition whose theme was “Qatar History”.

Blood Donation Campaign

As part of its social responsibility, a blood donation campaign is organized by QAFCO annually in coordination with Hamad Medical Cooperation. In 2021, the campaign was organized at the Gate Mall and was open for public. Over 50 eligible donors participated at the event.

Visit to Schools

As part of its Qatarization drive, and in an effort to guide high school students on career growth orientation, a number of visits were conducted by QAFCO to various local schools as follows: -

World Food Day - Online Cooking Session

In order to celebrate the World Food Day and spread awareness about healthy eating habits among QAFCO Employees and their families, an online cooking session was conducted with QAFCO Chef Mohamed El Manzalawi on October 16. A live demonstration was done on how to prepare a Mexican Salad with dressing, and participants were briefed on the benefits of eating healthy.

Global Fertilizer Day

Global Fertilizer Day, celebrated on 13 October annually, marks the importance of fertilizer in feeding the growing global population. This year, QAFCO observed Global Fertilizer Day using different media. A social media contest was released only for Qatar residents through Instagram to highlight the day, while another planting Activity was organised at Qatar Autism Center and Special Needs where 50 students from the center planted vegetable, fruit and herb seeds in pots in an effort to spread awareness about self-sustenance and benefits of home gardening.

A photography competition was also organised separately for QAFCO employees, with the theme "Photographs that capture Qatar's efforts to make the country greener".

RBZ Awareness Competition for employees and their Families

An awareness quiz competition was organized for employees and their families to spread awareness about Road Beyond Zero - a part of QAFCO's Safety Culture journey which is designed to produce a paradigm shift in the outlook, experience and actions of QAFCO employees with regards to safety, both in and out of the workplace. A total of 89 submissions were received and 3 winners were selected on lucky draw basis.

11th GPCA Agri-Nutrients Conference

QAFCO participated at the 11th Agri-Nutrients Conference that was hosted virtually by the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) from September 15-16, 2021. QAFCO MD & CEO, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Suwaidi, who is also the Chairman of the Agri-Nutrients Committee at GPCA, delivered the opening speech. A total of 50 delegates from QAFCO participated at the online event.
