Global Fertilizer Day, celebrated on 13 October annually, marks the importance of fertilizer in feeding the growing global population. This year, QAFCO observed Global Fertilizer Day using different media. A social media contest was released only for Qatar residents through Instagram to highlight the day, while another planting Activity was organised at Qatar Autism Center and Special Needs where 50 students from the center planted vegetable, fruit and herb seeds in pots in an effort to spread awareness about self-sustenance and benefits of home gardening.

A photography competition was also organised separately for QAFCO employees, with the theme "Photographs that capture Qatar's efforts to make the country greener".
