During Summer 2019, QAFCO received approximately 20 scholarship and sponsorship Qatari students who completed their further studies locally and abroad in different fields. A formal welcome reception lunch was organized on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Al Banush Club, to celebrate the graduates’ achievement and to welcome them into their new career paths at QAFCO.
As part of the World Environment Day celebrations held annually, a 2 minute live speech competition on the topic Beat Air Pollution, was organized for age categories of 6-10 years and 11-14 years on Saturday, 7 September, 2019, at Al Banush Club, to promote environmental awareness among QAFCO employees and their families.
The third annual QAFCO Career Fair was conducted on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Doha Marriott Hotel.
The 87th IFA Annual Conference was held in Montreal (Canada) from 11 to 13 June, 2019. QAFCO participated as a Gold sponsor in the event. More than 1250 representatives from 67 countries met in Montreal to advance the industry’s commitments to industry stewardship, partnerships and innovation at IFA’s Annual Conference.
The Annual Town Hall Meeting was held on Wednesday, May 01, 2019, at Al-Banush Club Mesaieed. The meeting is an opportunity for employees to interact directly with management and ask questions, generally present their ideas and voice their opinions on the development within the company.
The National Sports Day was celebrated, with QAFCO employees and their families on 12 February 2019, at Al-Banush Club. The celebrations, attenhded by over 500 guests, included sports activities such as 50m race, 100m race, Lemon & Spoon, Long Jump, Shot-put, Disc Throw and Mini Marathon, for age group categories of 6-9yrs, 10-14yrs, 15-18yrs, Men and Women.
QAFCO held the First Qatari Day of the year on March 13, 2019 at Al-Banush Club for all national employees, including a workshop, group discussion and update on Qatarization.
In celebration with the Qatar Environment Day, a Pot Planting workshop was organised on February 26, 2019 at Al Banush Club, Football ground, for QAFCO employees and their families in order to raise awareness about environment and benefits of community gardening.
As part of its ongoing drive to enhance and improve safety performance, QAFCO embarked upon the ‘ROAD BEYOND ZERO’ Safety Culture journey which is designed to produce a paradigm shift in the outlook, experience and actions of QAFCO employees as regards safety, both in and out of the workplace. In line with the initiative, QAFCO arranged for a visit by Mr. Charlie Morecraft, to share his personal experience with an industrial tragedy that changed the lives of his family and himself. Several sessions were arranged for employees, their families, and other industrial community members.
